Tualatin Semi Towing Company Responds on I-5

Tualatin Semi Towing Company Assists Peterbilt

As a semi towing company, Baker & Baker loves to help our clients in need. We recently had the chance to do so when a semi truck required assistance along Interstate 5. Here’s how we completed the job and got things rolling again.

The call came in for a 2019 Peterbilt semi tractor towing a container trailer that had developed a knocking sound in the engine. Because the semi was sitting along the side of I-5 north of Wilsonville in Tualatin, Oregon, a professional semi towing company was needed to get the truck to a repair shop.

As the law prohibits towing of a tractor trailer over 100 miles, the semi towing company had to get creative to generate a solution. Upon arrival at the scene, the semi towing team assessed the situation at hand before getting to work.

First, the crew disconnected the drive shaft while the truck and trailer were still connected. This involved removing the bolts and U joints connected to the drive shaft. Each of these pieces was placed in a bag with a condition alert tag and put on the steering wheel. This ensures that nobody tries to start the truck up without the proper components in place.

Once disconnected, the  semi towing company secured the driveshaft with three foot zip ties with a 175 pound working load. Next, the tractor and trailer were split from each other. The tractor was hooked up and towed to Springfield, Oregon for engine repairs. The trailer was taken back to the business in Tangent, Oregon.

Thanks to our well-maintained and extensive fleet, this was a relatively simple job for the semi towing company to complete. We are glad we could assist during a challenging time for the truck driver.
